Initial Contact

Before your first appointment is scheduled you will speak by telephone with a member of our professional staff.  During this initial conversation we will talk about what is concerning you and how we can best serve. For a rich conversation allow enough time for us to begin to get to know each other.

You may be calling with one particular family member in mind.  It isn’t unusual for one person to stand-out when a family feels out-of-sync.  But everyone has a role in what isn’t going so well, and what is going great.  So, everyone in the family has a role and responsibility in how we work together to strengthen your family.

What to Expect

Our Environment

When you first enter Legacy Family Center you may notice the comfortable atmosphere of our reception area.  Our appointments typically begin on time, so arriving a few minutes early will give you an opportunity to transition from the challenges of the day.  Browse a magazine enjoy the music, or just relax.  Our meeting is just a few minutes away.

First Meeting

Please allow for a longer than usual meeting the first time we get together.  We can discuss the amount of time needed when the appointment is set.  This is an opportunity to begin to get to know each other.  You will begin to share your concerns and hopes in greater detail.  Together we will clarify your goals and determine a meeting schedule based on needs and services.

Depending on your family’s situation the first meeting may only include parent(s) or the entire family. There is nothing cookie-cutter about you, so if you know another family meeting with us, your first steps may be different from each other.
